About Us

Joe Bloom, Founder & CEO

The Null Product is Joe's vision for a business that empowers people, while understanding the commercial viability and health of businesses and product portfolios. Joe has spent 20+ years in product management, building relationships and driving value through product management excellence.

He pairs his history of working for software companies with 7 years of private equity and consulting experience. Joe joined Vista Equity Partners in 2019, driving product management value creation within the Vista portfolio. He continued consulting as part of West Monroe in early 2025 before ultimately founding The Null Product.

Joe started The Null Product so that he could dedicate himself fully to his passion for product management and software development, through training, consulting, authorship, and building community.

Career Highlights

"People are the foundation of every success, every moment of learning, and they don't do it in silos."

Consulting & Value Creation

Joe has partnered with ~100 software and technology companies, supporting their product management teams, engineering, and cross-functional stakeholders.

He has partnered with private equity, boards of directors, and company leadership to be a conduit for transparency, clear goal setting, and mapping Roadmaps to ROI and Budget Needs so that companies can protect and grow their business over time.

Training & Talent Development

Joe has trained over 500 next-generation product leaders across ~20 product management topics over the last 7 years.

He loves practical teaching and meeting people where they are so they learn what works for them, their company, and their long-term success.

Theory is everywhere, but that doesn't get the work done. It doesn't help you truly navigate leading product offerings.

Industry Experience

Joe has worked in healthcare, government, fintech, education, IT, transportation, and more, both in B-to-B and consumer applications.

Most of his time has been in Enterprise Software, focused on highly regulated and highly technical businesses.

He has worked with billion-dollar companies, $20M companies, and everything in between.

But Joe has a soft spot for small business owners too, having run salon and spa software and having co-owned a bakery for four years with his wife.
